Articulo gives kids instant, encouraging feedback on how fast and how clearly they talk — so home practice actually happens between therapy sessions. Built with speech-language pathologists. No adult needed to say "right" or "try again."
Speech therapy works — when kids get enough practice. The numbers show how many kids need it, and why the hours between sessions are where progress is won or lost.
Three minutes to set up. Then every practice session is scored, recorded, and turned into progress a parent or therapist can actually see.
A short intake — the same questions an SLP asks at a first visit: age, grade, reading level, what's hard (pace, clarity, certain sounds), and goals. Then a 7-item adaptive skills check sets the starting level automatically.
Every attempt is measured in syllables per minute (the unit SLPs use) and scored word by word. Kids see green, amber, and red on the words themselves — instantly, without a grown-up judging each try.
Every recording is saved. Insights spot trends, trouble words, racing patterns, and the exact clips worth a listen — for a parent at home or a therapist reviewing a caseload.
20 illustrated stories across three levels. The child picks a hero and the story rewrites itself around them, one scored line at a time.
Say a sentence clearly to earn each drop. Three difficulty levels — Robo Hard thinks seven moves ahead.
Just talk. Articulo learns each voice, labels who's speaking, and scores both — natural conversation instead of listen-and-repeat.
The app reads a sentence at a good pace, the child says it back, and both rates appear side by side. Fully spoken, so pre-readers can use it.
Open-ended questions and adaptive follow-ups. Spontaneous speech is where rushing shows up — this is where it gets measured.
Setup, pause, punchline. Comic timing is a pacing exercise in disguise, and kids repeat jokes on their own — free practice.
Read aloud or talk freely with a live pace lane. The lane turns green when speech is clear and conversational.
Adaptive placement test to set a baseline, re-run anytime. Optional phoneme-level pronunciation scoring for articulation targets.
Pace is scored the way SLPs measure it — syllables per minute — so "hippopotamus" counts for five beats and "a" counts for one. A kid can't game it by picking short words.
Each word lights up green, amber, or red. Optional Pro scoring adds phoneme-level pronunciation accuracy for targets like R, S, L, and TH.
Insights spot trends, trouble words, time-of-day effects, and the exact recordings worth reviewing — so a parent or therapist sees what matters in one glance.
Same app, same scoring. Pick the path that fits.

No. Articulo is a practice tool for the hours between sessions — where progress is actually made and usually stalls. It is not a diagnosis, a treatment, or a substitute for a licensed speech-language pathologist.
Pace is measured directly from timing and is very reliable. Word clarity uses speech recognition, which is strong for school-age kids and adults and less reliable for very young children, heavy accents, noisy rooms, and some speech sound disorders. Every score is encouraging feedback, not a clinical measurement — and recordings are always saved so a human can listen.
Recordings and scores are stored securely in your account so you can sign in from any device. Only members of your family or practice account can access them. You can delete any recording, or your whole account, at any time. A full privacy policy is being finalized with counsel for launch.
Five and up. Pre-readers get fully spoken modes (Echo, Story, Jokes, Listen). Older kids, teens, and adults get age-matched vocabulary and pace targets.
Chrome or Edge on a laptop, Chromebook, Android phone or tablet. iPhone/iPad speech recognition is inconsistent, so iOS isn't officially supported yet.
The app works and is in use with real families and therapists, and it's free while we finish the therapist dashboard, billing, and policies. Things may change; tell us what's confusing at hello@articulo.ai.
